Windows 7 – The Faster IE9

Thank you for joining us today. I’m Rudy Stebih and welcome to Episode 16 –The Faster IE9 here on Help Desk TV.

Internet Explorer 9 takes full advantage of the operating system and hardware to fully accelerate rendering of webpages. Meaning, IE9 now uses the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) located on your graphics card as well as the CPU (Central Processing Unit) located on your motherboard. This dramatically increases the speed of your video and audio elements from the web.

Today, we are going to show you 2 such speed improvements from the web. First, using the pre-release version of Flash 11 plugin, we going to show you the 3D edition of Zombie Tycoon.

Next, we are going to show you how an ordinary web page looks like today. Here is Mike Tompkins performing his version of a Katy Perry song called ‘Firework’.

Ok, now let’s look at what IE9 can do.

I hope you enjoyed todays Help Desk TV. If you have a comment about this program, a question, or a shortcut you would like to share with me, send us an e-mail message to feedback@helpdesktv.ca

Thanks for watching!
